4 days in Buenos Aires
Tango, steak and grand cafés that stay open until dawn. A 4-day plan.
Buenos Aires feels like a European capital transplanted to South America, with broad avenues, ornate cafés and a nightlife that doesn't start until midnight.

See Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada, have coffee at Café Tortoni and tour Teatro Colón.
Day 2: Recoleta and Palermo

Day 3: San Telmo and La Boca

Day 4: The Tigre delta
Take the train to Tigre for boat rides through the delta.

Short on time, or staying longer?
With less time, keep the first days and skip the day trip. With more, add a slower day for a neighbourhood from our best areas to stay, or choose more from the full list of things to do.
Opening days and times change, and some sights close one day a week. Check before you go. Last reviewed October 2026.
