3 days in Jaipur
The Pink City: forts, palaces and bazaars in Rajasthan's royal capital. A 3-day plan.
Jaipur's pink-washed old city, hilltop forts and lived-in palaces make it the jewel of Rajasthan and a corner of India's Golden Triangle with Delhi and Agra.
Day by day
Day 1: Forts and palaces
Visit Amber Fort early, then see Hawa Mahal, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar.
Day 2: Bazaars and crafts
Shop the old-city bazaars, take a block-printing class and see the Albert Hall Museum lit up at night.
Day 3: Views and local life
Have kachori and lassi for breakfast, catch a film at Raj Mandir and watch sunset from Nahargarh Fort.
Make it work
- Best months: Oct–Mar. See the season calendar.
- Book ahead: the most popular sights and restaurants, especially in peak season.
- Where to eat along the way: Laxmi Misthan Bhandar (LMB), Suvarna Mahal, Tapri Central.
- Getting around: Hire a car and driver for a day, or use Uber and Ola.
Short on time, or staying longer?
With less time, keep the first days and skip the day trip. With more, add a slower day for a neighbourhood from our best areas to stay, or choose more from the full list of things to do.
Opening days and times change, and some sights close one day a week. Check before you go. Last reviewed October 2026.
